Mostly for steve based on our conversation leaving the arena tonite but, wtf got into the hornets? In this game all night, beating a team with the best record in the NBA (early) and doing so very nicely it would seem. I know they always like to play on national tv so there's that. Makes the losses to Toronto and Knicks sting ALL the more. I also know there was plenty of motivation based on last week's bludgeoning at Phoenix. AND without Paul.
So, is it because more players get involved with paul out? Is it the new offensive style, more defense? They lost faith in Byron? Have faith in Bower/Floyd? Combination? What gives? Even in the recent loss, they seem to have played a tad better. I'm not yet ready to say they're gonna be alright but at least the young guys are getting GREAT experience (tho thornton twisted an ankle I think in the 3rd). |

Didn't see much of the game tonight obviously, but the Hornets look NOTICEABLY livelier since the Scott canning. One example, they were getting tons of deflections on defense the other night. Not even necessarily turnovers, just deflecting passes and screwing up the opponent's rhythm. We just haven't been seeing that kind of thing at all.
I don't necessarily have one set explanation for it, and it may not last, but it's simply undeniable that we're playing harder post-Scott thus far.
